HORROR ON SEA Film Festival: January 2013: Will Shock Amaze And Astound South East Essex UK !

 A Very Warm Welcome
From The Inaugural

C O M I N G
JANUARY 18th -20th 2013
Just when you think you can relax after Christmas along comes the first
ever Horror-on-Sea Film Festival! This brand new feast of the spooky, macabre and plain downright weird, is brought to all you horror fans out
there by The White Bus, the folks behind the Southend-on-Sea Film Festival.

Launched at the recent Zombie Walk, Horror-on-Sea will be running from
Friday to Sunday, 18th to 20th January, at the Park Inn Palace Hotel
(on Southend seafront) and will be screening a fine selection of new
independent horror films from the UK and across the globe.

Set to shock, amaze and astound the good folks of
south east Essex (and beyond) in January, 2013.

The famous Park Inn Palace Hotel, Essex, UK

For those of you who live outside Southend, or just want to fully immerse yourselves
in the blood and thunder, the Park Inn Palace Hotel is offering special Festival rates:
£60 for one night’s B&B (single or double) – or £120 for three nights B&B (single or double) so you can stay two nights and get the third free.  More details here
My name is Paul Cotgrove and I am your official Horror-on-Sea Film Festival host. By the way, I’m also Festival Director for the Southend-on-Sea Film Festival,
which celebrated its fourth outing back in May. Now firmly established as
Essex’s #1 film festival, it’s going exceptionally strong, providing a diverse selection of both quality horror and main stream movies to an equally wide variety of active film goers.

Naturally, Horror-on-Sea is much more focused  although we hope to cover a wide spectrum within the fantastique genre. Further details will, of course, be released in due course, but one strand will take a good look at what’s new in the horror genre.
Be part of our ZOMBIE WALK here
There are many, many talented Indie filmmakers out there, and we’ll be bringing the very best of the new crop to Southend, to show their films and talk about the often tortuous process of moving from the initial concept to production and then to distribution.
To celebrate the launch of the brand new Horror-on-Sea Film Festival we are organizing a Faux Horror Trailer Contest. Filmmakers are invited to get their creative juices flowing and come up with one, or more, faux trailers, similar to those included in Tarantino
and Rodriguez’s ‘Grindhouse’ double bill.
The best trailers will be screened at
Horror-on-Sea as
coming attractions before selected feature films.

Screenings will take place in the hotel’s sumptuous ballroom, a superb
setting for this major new horror film festival. We've packed in 18 screenings.
Tickets are £5, but a Weekend Pass is the best value deal. At just £50 this
saves you a whopping £40 off the individual ticket prices.
But hurry – these are limited to just 100!
Already, I can confirm we have local filmmaker Pat Higgins’ Amicus tribute
“Nazi Zombie Death Tales”; “INBRED”, from Alex (“Cradle of Fear”/”Pervirella”)
Chandon; prolific genre veteran Michael J. Murphy’s “ZK3” and “Bloody Cuts”,
Ben Franklin’s anthology, inspired by classic series’ such as “The Twilight Zone.”
These will be joined by many others for a weekend of horror you
definitely won't want to miss!

ATTENTION! On the Saturday afternoon, local filmmaker Pat Higgins
will be conducting a Masterclass covering all aspects of horror film-making.
This costs an extra £5 but will be invaluable to all budding filmmakers.

There will be plenty of time for Q & A sessions and
the hotel’s bar, with its extensive views over Southend’s famous pier, will provide a convivial atmosphere
where fans and filmmakers can relax together.
